01. BAROQUE-POOL PLATTERS
With these platters, I aim to create a sense of abundant sea-life, a rock-pool that is encrusted with crustacea, a mêlée of molluscs and a feast of fish. Also the randomness of whatever happens to come up in the bottom of a fisherman's net, which would make the best traditional bouillabaisse.
03. BRUNSVIGIA PLATTER
In this design, I am portraying the seed head of a wild plant that forms a sphere made up of the dried flower spikes. It creates an optical illusion as the bowl is obviously concave, but the design is strongly convex. The eye interprets the two opposites in a similar way, so instead of competing with one another, they co-operate.
